Quasitum Intelisoft India Pvt. Ltd.
Designed by Fluid Space Architects, the Quasitum q-four office building offers a superior work environment with positive economic and ecological impacts. Q-four is located in the heart of Electronic City Township, outside of Bangalore, and has a built-up area of about 5,000m2.
The q-four office building has achieved an EDGE preliminary certificate, and is projected to achieve a 43% reduction in total energy consumption compared to a conventional office building, resulting in operational savings of almost US$4,000 per month, in addition to saving the environment 301 tCO2/year. Windows set at an angle based on the sun’s path maximize daylight and minimize direct sunlight, reducing the air-conditioning load by over 50%. There is minimal use of cement and the walls are made of local fly ash and hollow brick building materials. The project also includes a water conservation system with rain water harvesting and 100% reuse of all treated sewage water for toilets and landscape irrigation.
Predicted Savings of EDGE Certification
Reduced window to wall ratio, higher thermal performance glass, variable refrigerant volume (VRV) cooling system, sensible heat recovery from exhaust air and energy saving light-bulbs in internal and external spaces.
Low-flow plumbing fixtures, dual-flush water closets and a black water treatment and recycling system.
Honeycomb clay blocks for external walls and uPVC window frames.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
