Inmobiliaria Vinte – Real Granada
Inmobiliaria Vinte’s Real Granada brings 60, 2-bedroom green apartments to the housing market in Tecámac, Mexico. Each of the apartments in the 2,700m2 development features low-energy light bulbs, efficient refrigerators and a rainwater harvesting system with 150L capacity, enabling families to reuse rainwater to irrigate green areas and wash clothes and dishes. With these and many other green features, tenants benefit from a monthly utility bill savings of MXN$163 and a reduction in emissions of about 2.7tCO2 per year, per household.
Inmobiliaria Vinte is dedicated to improving their tenant’s quality of life by building more efficient housing with positive economic and environmental impacts. “Our goal is to continue to improve our product and create great communities. Real Granada is a milestone for us and for the Mexican housing market in our transition towards more environmentally efficient housing,“ said Tobias Contreras, Director of Sustainability at Vinte. Granada-Cadiar received final EDGE certification from GBCI.
Predicted Savings of EDGE Certification
Reduced window to wall ratio, insulation of roof, high-efficiency boiler for hot water and energy-saving light bulbs for internal spaces.
Low-flow plumbing fixtures and rainwater harvesting system.
Medium-weight hollow concrete blocks for internal and external walls and wall insulation.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
