Griya LiMa Garuda Subang
The developers of the Griya LiMa Garuda (GLG) housing community believe there should be a home for everyone. Purposefully planned and designed specifically for low-income families, the project shows how homes can be both green and affordable. The 480 units are located in West Java and are a testimony to PT. Bumi Runting Lestari’s commitment to making affordable homes more accessible to low-income families.

Each two-bedroom home is designed to be resource-efficient. With practical energy and water-saving measures such as energy-saving lighting and low-flow showerheads, utility costs are expected to be reduced by nearly one-third. Sustainable construction materials such as autoclaved aerated concrete blocks for walls reduce the embodied energy in materials by 65%. Living in a resource-efficient home is transformative for many of the families. “Owning our own house has improved our family’s quality of life and we now have a place to call home,” stated Mr. Suryo, one of the new residents at Griya LiMa Garuda.

As a subsidized housing developer in Indonesia, PT Bumi Runting Lestari (PT BRL) is committed to providing green, affordable housing for low-income families. The company collaborates with Habitat for Humanity to implement the Simple Healthy Houses (RSH) initiative. Griya LiMa Garuda is their first project under this model, but the company has several new projects planned for development. Griya LiMa Garuda Subang has received a preliminary EDGE certificate from the Green Building Council Indonesia.
