First Home Premium – Binh Duong
National Housing Organisation has certified 283 two-bedroom units from its apartment complex located in the southern province of Binh Duong. NHO has made a commitment to Vietnam’s Construction Ministry to provide 100,000 low to middle-income level apartments in the next decade to satisfy current demand. The company’s ambition is to become a leading provider of homes in the target market segment, gaining the confidence of customers through products such as its First Home Premium brand.
Designed by Jeawool Cha of Korea, the 17-story apartment buildings will not be air conditioned but instead rely on insulation and higher performance glass to keep out the heat, enabling families to save US$16 per month on their utility bills. The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam and the Vietnam International Bank are providing attractive interest rates for loans of up to 85% of the total cost for homebuyers interested in these green homes.
Predicted Savings of EDGE Certification
Reduced window to wall ratio, insulation of external walls and energy-efficient lighting system.
Low flow showerheads, low-flow faucets for kitchen sinks and wash basins, and dual flush water closets.
Autoclaved aerated concrete blocks for internal and external walls; and uPVC for window frames.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
