Located on the outskirts of São Paulo, the Bosque da Serra housing complex provides 180 energy and water-efficient two-bedroom apartments for low-income residents. Compared to a conventionally-designed project, Bosque da Serra cost less to build, with the result that two apartments were built at no cost.
With energy-efficient lighting and passive design features such as reduced glazing on the façade and reflective paint on the roof, Bosque da Serra empowers residents to lower their carbon footprint and save on utility bills. Residents can expect to decrease their utility bills by nearly one fourth, allowing them to allocate more funds to other household needs. The complex includes a playground for children, an outdoor space for pets, a fitness center and plenty of outdoor space to enjoy.
