Latural is a new 122-unit apartment complex in Panama City. Ideally located in the heart of the city, the apartment complex is within walking distance of restaurants, schools, supermarkets, and recreational parks. Designed by Mallol Arquitectos, the apartment complex will have a distinctive look with vegetation covering the exterior.
The one, two, and three-bedroom apartments were designed to reduce their environmental impact through the conservation of natural resources. Energy-saving lighting, a variable refrigerant volume cooling system, and low-flow plumbing fixtures will be installed to reduce the apartments’ energy and water use.
The developers of the project, Altius Panama and AJ Dayan, are committed to providing Panamanians with the opportunity to live environmentally friendly lifestyles through the development of resource-efficient homes.
Latural has received a preliminary EDGE certificate from GBCI.
Predicted Savings of EDGE Certification
Less Embodied Energy in Materials
A variable refrigerant volume (VRV) cooling system and energy-saving lighting in internal and external spaces.
Dual-flush water closets and low-flow showerheads and faucets for kitchen sinks and washbasins.
Concrete filler slab with Polystyrene blocks for the floor and roof, plasterboards on metal studs with insulation for internal walls, in-situ reinforced and medium weight hollow concrete blocks for external walls, and ceramic tile flooring.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
