TDB Group is proud to add it’s regional HQ office building to the early pool of EDGE certified projects in Kenya. TDB Group is committed to sustainability and this building is a testament to its values.
Beyond incorporating resource-efficient design features and technologies, TDB also incorporated waste management and sustainable material procurement into the development of the project.
TDB Group’s Regional Nairobi Office Tower has received a preliminary EDGE certificate from GBCI.
Predicted Savings of EDGE Certification
Less Embodied Energy in Materials
Reduced window-to-wall ratio, external shading devices, higher thermal performance glass, energy-saving lighting in internal and external spaces, and occupancy sensors in bathrooms, conference rooms, and closed cabins.
Efficient-flush water closets, water-efficient urinals, low-flow faucets in all bathrooms, a rainwater harvesting system, and a grey water treatment and recycling system.
Concrete filler slab for the floor, in-situ reinforced concrete slab for the roof construction, machine cut unpolished stone blocks for internal and external walls, curtain external walling, and terrazzo and finished concrete flooring.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
