The Lakeside House of Francis Uy’s Family

EDGE Advanced

Engr. Francis Anthony Uy, president and owner of Kontrac Facilities Management Services Inc., executed his dream to design and build a sustainable home for his family. The company hopes that achieving an EDGE Advanced certificate will encourage other individuals and homeowners to adapt the principles of sustainability within the context of the built environment.

Located in a sought-after lakeside community, the 420 square meter home is a two-story project with five bedrooms and an attic residence designed as a comfortable, safe, and sustainable place to live. The home was designed to reduce energy consumption through the use of natural ventilation and efficient cooling measures, which eliminate the need for air conditioning. Water usage was also reduced through the use of low-flow plumbing fixtures.

As a leader in the sector, Kontrac Facilities Management Services Inc. believes it is their responsibility to do their part to reduce the environmental impact of its operations.

The project has been granted an EDGE Advanced certificate by GBCI, and upon final certification will be one of the first EDGE projects internationally certified as a privately owned and non-commercial single residential unit in the Philippines.
