MORE Panama City is an 18-story apartment complex in the El Cangrejo district of Panama City, Panama. Located in one of the most trending areas of Panama, in the heart of Via Argentina, the project is in proximity to universities, shops, supermarkets, parks, and the metro. MORE consists of a total of 188 apartments with an average floor space of 54 square meters. MORE is being developed by Altius Group and designed by Mallol & Mallol Arquitectos.

To meet international standards for resource efficiency, energy and water-saving technologies were incorporated into the design, construction and internal processes of the building. External shading devices, a higher efficiency HVAC system and LED lighting reduce the building’s energy use, while water-efficient plumbing fixtures reduce its water consumption.

Lapacho Roga is a residential project located in the Virgen del Huerto neighborhood of Asuncion, Paraguay. It consists of a two-story house featuring four bedrooms over a total area of 300 square meters with a focus on sustainable living. The project was designed by Pro Arquitectos and developed and constructed by PM Ingenieria, a local engineering firm.

To meet international standards for resource efficiency, energy and water-saving technologies were incorporated into the design, construction and internal processes of the building. The Block is an affordable housing complex being developed in Bellville, in the eastern metropolitan region of Cape Town, South Africa. Developed by Transcend Residential Property Fund, a South African real estate investment and development company, the project will retrofit 253 existing housing units. The units will be upgraded to a higher efficiency standard through the incorporation of technologies such as water-efficient plumbing features, reflective paint for roofs and walls, energy-efficient glass, heat pumps for hot water generation, LED lighting using lighting controls and smart electricity meters.

The project is part of the wider strategy of Transcend to invest in affordable housing across South Africa. Projects are located close to job opportunities, transport corridors and other amenities such as schools.

The project consists of 1496 housing units with an average space of 47 square meters, distributed among eight 12-story towers offering such amenities as gyms, BBQ areas, playgrounds and ample green spaces and parks. Ciudadela Verde was designed and developed by Zabdi Construcciones, a local real estate development company with a focus on sustainable and social housing projects.

With this focus in mind, energy and water-saving technologies were incorporated into the design, construction and internal processes of the building. Natural ventilation with operable windows, and LED lighting with occupancy sensors reduce the building’s energy consumption, while water-efficient plumbing fixtures reduce its water use and modern construction materials such as honeycomb clay blocks reduce the energy embodied in construction materials.

The Tera 12 project was created around the around the idea of breaking the paradigms ordinary apartment designs and with the goal to maximize every occupiable space in the building. Seeking to find a balance between aesthetic and functionality energy and water-saving technologies were incorporated into the design, construction and internal processes of the building. Reflective paint for roof and external walls, LED lighting and smart meters reduce the building’s energy use, while water-efficient plumbing fixtures reduce its water consumption.
