Matture Home Life is a housing project located in the Chácara Inglesa neighborhood in the south of São Paulo, Brazil. It consists of a total of 104 apartments with an average floor space of 39 square meters. The building will offer its residents amenities such as a swimming pool, Pilates studio, concierge, and an open-space gardening area.
The project was developed by Matushita Engenharia e Construções Ltda. and Plazzacorp, local real estate development and architecture companies with a proven track record of delivering innovation in large-scale residential construction projects.
By incorporating modern construction technologies such as reflective paint for roofs, external shading devices, solar hot water collectors, the use of energy-saving appliances such as LED lightbulbs and water-efficient plumbing features and a rainwater harvesting system, the project was able to significantly reduce its energy and water consumption, resulting in a more sustainable construction project and a reduced carbon footprint.
Matture Home Life has received a Preliminary EDGE Certificate from Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI).
Predicted Savings of EDGE Certification
Less Embodied Energy in Materials
Reduced window to wall ratio, reflective paint/tiles for roof, external shading devices, solar hot water collectors, energy-saving light bulbs for external and internal spaces, and lighting controls for common spaces.
Low-flow faucets for kitchen sinks and all bathrooms, dual flush for water closets, and a rainwater harvesting system.
In-situ reinforced concrete slabs for floor and roof construction, honeycomb clay blocks with internal & external plaster for internal and external walls, ceramic tiles for flooring, and aluminum window frames.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
