Madrid Time is a housing project located in the Lince district of Lima, Peru. It consists of a total of 72 apartments with an average floor space of 72 square meters.
The project was developed by Madrid Ingenieros, a local real estate development company with a focus on sustainable housing construction.
By incorporating modern construction technologies for roof and wall construction, the use of energy-saving appliances such as LED lightbulbs and water-efficient plumbing features, the project was able to significantly reduce its energy and water consumption, resulting in a more sustainable construction project and a reduced carbon footprint.
Madrid Time has received a Preliminary EDGE Certificate from Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI).
Predicted Savings of EDGE Certification
Less Embodied Energy in Materials
Reduced window to wall ratio, energy-saving light bulbs for external spaces, and lighting controls for corridors and staircases
Low-flow showerheads, low-flow faucets for kitchen sinks and all bathrooms, and dual-flush for water closets
Medium-weight hollow concrete blocks for internal and external walls, concrete filler slab for floor and roof construction, and aluminum window frames
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
